Happenings Around The Club
MEMBERSHIP
Thank you to everyone who has already paid their Membershp Fees for 2017/18 -Over half
the fees are in already – well done!!
The Membership Cards are at the Club to be picked up by Members if possible to save on
postage please.
If you have paid since Thursday 22nd June then your cards won’t be available until after
5pm on Friday 30th June as I am in Perth until then.
Also if you have paid your membership but your partner hasn’t then your card won’t be
available until your partner has paid as both cards will go in the same envelope -also to
save on postage.
The Membership Cards will be at the bar or Bruce will have them in the office please ask for
your Cards.
Please note that your Membership number is incorporated in the bar code on your card- the
number will start with 2018 and the last few digits are your Membership number eg my
barcode number is 20180226 therefore my Member number is 226 and of course the 2018 is
the membership year.
I have included an explanation of how your Membership Rewards Card works and also a
copy of our 2017/18 Membership fees along with a DDCC pamphlet that you might like to
pass on to someone you think may like to join the Club.
DIRECT DEBIT
If you wish to use Direct Debit to pay your Membership Fees you will NOT find it in the Wild Apricot program.
You need to know how much your Membership fees are from your invoice and then go to your own internet banking
and do a ‘pay anybody’ or whatever you do when you normally pay your bills online using BSB 633000 ACC 152053435.
Just thought I would clear that up for everyone!!
Many Thanks
Vicki Frost
Xmas in July
The Club will be hosting Xmas in July on Sunday 23rd of July at 12.30pm. You will be treated to a Xmas buffet at a cost of $35 per person. A copy of the menu will be available next week. A booking sheet will be posted on the information board in the foyer of the Club. Get a group together and come join in the festivities.
Footy Tipping Competition
I have purchased two tickets for the game West Coast Eagles verses Carlton (Round 21) Saturday August 12th with return bus trip donated by Gannaways Charters. This will go to the best tipped score of Round 17. For this round, along with your winners selection you must also put the points split of the Western Derby (West Coast verses Fremantle). This is so if more than one tipster has the same number of winning tips, the closest to the winning margin of the Derby will win the prize. Good luck to all.
There is only 6 points separating the top 20 tipsters at the moment.
Does anyone know of a solo guitarist / singer who would be interested in performing at the Club when required? If so could you please have them contact me at the Club on 97553250.
Thanks Bruce

BOWLS NEWS
MENS & LADIES BOWLS
Tuesday Mixed Bowls
The weather was against us from the start but 9 bowlers fronted up to brave the elements. Rob Prentice bowled superbly all day to make it through to the Final along with Brian Logan and Geoff Oddy. In the final Rob again had excellent bowls to win very strongly. Well done to you and lets hope the weather is much kinder to us next Tuesday
Thursday
With 29 participants, it was the Geoff Oddy/Andre Gil combination that again took the steak and sausages.
Not far behind was Lindsay Perry, with a visitor, J.Pagas.
The sweet-tooth pair were Brian Buttsworth and Toby McCarthy.
Saturday
20 bowlers survived the Icelandic conditions to enjoy a 2-4-2 contest.
Rockingham visitor, Kay Upton, partnered Maureen Hines to earn first prize, being the only pair to win both games.
Norman Gage and visitor, Graham, from Mosman Park, came second on aggregate.
It was great to see Mike O’Mara in action again, bowling well, and being reported as delivering the shot of the day.

TENNIS NEWS
TENNIS COURT BOOKING REMINDER
A reminder to all Members that you must book on the Booking Sheet if you want to play/hit up on the courts at any time. Even if you are a Member, it does not change this fact. This is important for the obvious reason that others may override your usage of the court if you haven’t booked; or it may already be booked by another person/s.
There have also been a number of times on Saturday afternoons lately when people have assumed that as a member they can come and use the court anytime for a personal hit up. A member may not use the court for a personal hit up or play in any time which is previously booked out on the Booking Sheet at the Pay Station. This of course, also applies to non-members.
Saturday Club Social tennis is accommodating up to 30 players on a Saturday afternoon between 1.00 pm and 6.00 pm. Anyone is welcome to join in with social players on a Saturday, Full members (i.e. $230.00 members) can join in social play free of charge, other Member categories (Mid-Week/Parent) or Visitors pay a $10.00 fee to join in organised social play.
