Happenings Around The Club
EVERYBODY PLEASE NOTE:
The South West Men’s Vets Golf is being played this Wed 21st of August at the DDCC.The Golf Course and Bike Trails are closed for this event until 5pm.This means you CANNOT ride the bike trails, you CANNOT play Golf and you CANNOT walk across the course as there is a great chance you may be hit by a golf ball- yes sometimes golfers DON’T hit straight!!During the ladies 3 day golf weekend many people were coming onto the course to walk themselves and their dog/s etc. Bikers were riding the course despite it being closed. You may think you won’t get hit however errant golf balls are very common!! Also you are moving while the golfers are hitting and that puts the golfer off- so please be aware and walk and ride elsewhere when the course is closed. The golfers give up their weekends of golf for bike events to occur so please reciprocate when golf has the odd event on.Thank you.**********************************
VOLUNTEERS AT OUR CLUB
DOT CARMODY
Thank you to Dot for all her volunteer work that she does quietly and efficiently around the Club.
Dot has been seen in recent times raking leaves, putting up sign posts, serving soup 3 days in a row, preparing food, cleaning in general, organising the cupboards out the back of the club, cleaning ovens, washing curtains, taking an elderly member for drives around the golf course on a beautiful day, helping set up for men’s vets, helping out in any way she can wherever she can- truly a remarkable person at our Club!
You are a treasure Dot!******************

Hello Cyclists
Please read the first item in the Newsletter under “Happenings Around The Club”if you have not already done so.
We realise that most Club Cyclists do take heed of golfers on the golf course – however if you happen to speak to other cyclists could you also make them aware- we really don’t want anyone hit by a golf ball!!
Thank you
