Hello Members, Sponsors & Patrons

The Club was very busy last week with Thursday bowls, Friday night dinner, Dunsborough Ducks wind up, Mr B Triples and the Cape to Cape.

There was 44 bowlers on Thursday for Social Bowls.  As a reminder to the Thursday bowlers, due to the Ladies 2 Day Carnival, men’s Thursday Social Bowls will be held tomorrow Wednesday 29th October. 12.30pm turn up for a 1.00pm start.

We had around 80 diners in for dinner.  The members jackpot was not won and $1000 is up for grabs this Friday.

Steve Reagan will be the Club chef again this Friday offering us all a delightful meal (menu attached).  Bookings can be made via phone, email or the foyer booking sheet by midday Friday thanks.

The cycling section & juniors will be the kitchen helpers.

The Dunsborough Ducks Vets Football Club held their wind up and trophy presentation night at the Club on Saturday,  With all the glitz and glamour of the Brownlow Medal, the Ducks enjoyed a great night with their partners and team mates.  The bar benefited greatly from the night.

The Cape to Cape cycling event concluded on Sunday with 1400 competitors finishing the four day event at the Club on the 18th fairway.  It was a very busy and profitable day for the Club with the food stall and bar both in over drive.  Thankyou very much to Chris Parkinson and the cycling volunteers who ran the outside food stall.  Estelle Perry, Dot Carmody & Carol Smith for staffing the kitchen.  Leanne, Frank & Jye for their efforts behind the bar.  Ron Carmody and the golfers for organising the car parking.  It was a huge day and without your help the day would have been impossible.  Thank you all very much.

Sunday afternoon was the final of the Mr B Triples.  The event winners were G.Benn, K.Gibb and B.Marwick.  Runners up were R.Prentice, N.Gage and T.South.

The Plate winners were M.Brown, R.Winchcombe and R.Don.  Congratulations to all winners.

Croquet SW Pennants Report

Two more rounds have been played in the Croquet SW Pennants competition.

Unfortunately these were not as successful for Dunsborough as the first round.

We played Moorabinda in Busselton on Oct 15 and then Halls Head 1 last Thursday in Bunbury.

Raelene Willis produced our only win out of 8 matches against Moorabinda’s top player Dawn Robinson.

Well done Raelene. And Terry Herd

came close in her match against Irene Hansen from Halls Head.

We play the last round on Thursday again at Bunbury against Halls Head 2.

Next year with our new full size second court, we will be able to host our home games at

DDCC. Dunsborough will also be co-ordinating the competition.

“The Men’s Golf Section will be holding their AGM on Wednesday November 12 2014, commencing at 10 am.

This will be followed by a 10 hole golf competition.

After golf there will be the annual major trophy presentation.

Any member of the Club is invited to attend. A nomination form, to fill committee positions for 2015 is on the Men’s Golf section notice board.

All golfers are requested to consider a position on the committee.”  A nomination form is attached

As the summer fast approaches if there is any maintenance issues around the Club that need attending could you direct them to me and I will pass them on to the relevant people.  Thank you.
